Draft disappeared

  A draft disappeared mysteriously while I was typing. How could this happen? How can I get it back?

  Hi there,

  I’m sorry to hear that this happened! There can every once in a while be an issue with drafts not being saved properly under the a couple of random circumstances. The first of which is if you were not connected to the internet. Our composition window usually detects this and tries to save a draft locally and then uploads it when it next detects a connection, but it sometimes isn’t able to. Is it possible that you had lost your internet connection?

  The other issue which can sometimes happen, which is much more rare, is that users will occasionally have two windows or tabs open while they are editing. One that they are actively working on, and the other to another post of theirs. When this happens, our autosave feature can get confused and will save drafts to the other post instead. Did you happen to have another post open at the time, and if so could you take a look to see if it was there?

  If there isn’t a draft amongst your other posts, then there is not anything else which we can do, I’m afraid. If the draft did not manage to save a version of itself then our systems have no record of it and it is gone. I sincerely apologize.
