draft is gone

  Hello

  Yesterday i spent hours writing a fiction piece saved its as a draft, i’ve gone back to work on it again and its gone!
  Is there any way i can get it back, either by someone at WordPress and a piece of software that can recover writings from the web.

  Hi. Did you check your Page drafts? (In case it’s a Page you wrote, not a Post)?

  ..and also it can be easy to miss if you didn’t put in a title to your post. Check and see if there is a post whith a blank in the title.
  (I’ve done this, already).

  Look in your Admin section to see if it was saved as a Draft Post or as a Private Post or Draft Page or Private Page.

  * Private Posts page: http://YOUR_BLOG_NAME_HERE.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_status=private

  * Draft Pages page: http://YOUR_BLOG_NAME_HERE.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit-pages.php?post_status=draft

  * Private Pages page: http://YOUR_BLOG_NAME_HERE/wp-admin/edit-pages.php?post_status=private

  WordPress.com has an auto-save feature and we have Post and Page revisions that we can revert to.
  * You can look the last autosave for Posts » Post Revisions
  * You can look in the last autosave for Pages »Page Revisions

  If you don’t find the post or page then it could be in your Trash. Provided you did not permanently delete it then restoration is possible. http://en.support.wordpress.com/trash/

  Hello All

  I’ve tried your suggestions and still can’t find it, is there any other way i can retrieve it… often told that nothing is truly deleted, so if anyone has any advise or know any recovering software … i’m getting worried and desperate now.

  ah right, sorry… I’ve looked, will look again.. but its gone, just disappeared… think i’ll have to hope wordpress can retrieve it somehow.

  Did you click “save” at least once when you created the missing post? When we click “save” the autosave feature is activated and post revisions are created. This is the link for contacting Staff and the more detail you can provide them with the better. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
