Draft page does not display in the site preview

I am trying to create a single page website. My content is all set up, shows up as a draft in the pages menu, and I was able to view it with my chosen theme as a preview. However, I tried a new theme, and now the preview does not display the page contents, but a blank draft. How do I get the contents of the draft page to combine with the new theme and show up in the preview?

  • Hi @abha1agarwal! Drafts and previews don’t always play well together, especially when switching themes, since some themes use pages, some use posts, some use blocks, some use portfolio items, etc.

If you want to have a chance to put the site together somewhat before going live, would you consider using privately published posts and pages, or even making the entire site private?

If you make the whole site private, staff will still be able to help at your request.

Thank you, @supernovia! As of now my site is all unpublished; I am still experimenting with how I want it to look. I think the easier way would be to start copying the content from the page (which is presently in block setup) to the themes I am experimenting with.

  • If your site is not launched yet, you can go ahead and publish your changes – nobody else, but you will be able to see those, and you’ll be sure how they will look on your site.
