  my computer shut down abruptly and I can not seem to be able locate a draft I was working even after trying all suggestions given on google.what do I do?

  Do you mean your draft is missing from the Drafts screen which you can access in your dashboard via Posts > All Posts and clicking on the Drafts link? ( 3rd link beneath the Posts label).

  My assumption was that every draft gets auto saved ,so when my computer broke down unexpectedly, I hoped I could recover what I had spent that many joursy working on :(

  You are correct, WordPress.com auto saves every 2 minutes as you write. Wonder how did auto save not happen for you.
