Drafts Never Finish Saving

  Hello, drafts in the regular (not admin) editor on my blog never finish saving. After making changes, the page says “Saving,” but it never completes, even when left for hours. I’m using updated Firefox on Windows 10.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Also, I have done the usual steps, clearing my chache and making sure cookies are enabled. This is a newly developed problem, starting yesterday (1/29), and it seems like it may have coincided with a Firefox update.

  Hello there, the recent FF update did crazy things to my Win10 PC as well.

  Since that update have you logged out of WordPressdotcom and cleared your browser cache and cookies? Before doing that, it would be worthwhile copy/pasting and saving your draft post to a text editor like Notepad or Editpad to ensure you don’t lose it. Clearing your browser cache and cookies will also log you out of any other website you may currently be logged in on.

  If you are still having issues after logging out and clearing your cache and cookies, try logging in under a Private browsing window. If you can, try logging in to WordPressdotcom from a different location/internet connection.

  Hi there,

  Do you have any browser add-ons enabled in FF? Try disabling those and see if that makes any difference.

  If neither that nor private browsing make any difference, also try starting FF in Safe Mode. If it works in Safe Mode it would indicate a setting somewhere in FF is causing problems, in which case the easiest solution is to refresh FF, which basically does a clean re-install of the browser.

  FWIW, drafts save normally for me in the latest FF using both Mac and Win 7, but if FF is also causing other issues with Win 10 it might be specific to that version of Windows.

  Thanks folks! I had already cleared my cache, as I mentioned, but logging out and logging back in seems to have done the trick (so far). Thanks for the help!
