Drafts on a seperate page in wp-admin
-
The idea of putting drafts on a seperate page within Dashboard -> Manage has come up on one of the wordpress mailing lists instead of having them displayed along the top of the Dashboard -> Manage -> Posts page.
Gotta admit that while I like the idea, I don’t use drafts myself.
Opinions?

I use drafts a lot. I grab stuff that I see (links) that I may want to write about later. Having a separate page would be great!

I just noticed that, at the top of the “write a new post” page, it just says “You have 5 drafts” rather than listing the titles. I don’t like that. I suppose it is not that hard to make one extra click to see them, but it just didn’t seem necessary to me to have changed it.
I use drafts often if I am writing something but am interrupted before finishing or need to let a post sit a bit before I figure out the best way to edit or conclude it.

Under the old system all we had a string of drafts that we had to hunt through to find the one we wanted. Under the improved system one can locate drafts very quickly and easily.
If you click on Manage what you get is this
Posts
Search terms… Status… Month…Category…Filter
example: Draft—June— environment —–> FilterI use the features in this this Manage area a lot. I have lots of drafts on subjects waiting for exactly the right moment to make my final additions to them and then publish. I have found the new draft management feature to be a very useful.
