Dramatic drop in impressions

    Hi

We have witnessed a dramatic drop in impressions for SEO on our blog (around a 70% drop) and unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we haven’t been able to restore impressions to their previous levels and need a hand figuring out what happened. It seems that the Google search bots are hitting a blocker when crawling our blog content, like we have a nofollow tag somewhere etc.

Here is what we have identified and actioned so far –

    Potential causes:

In order to improve the blog loading speed we:

Downscaled the banner from <2000px so it can tile (via Beaver Builder)
Set up css so that it tiles and sizes similar to the original (via Beaver Builder)
We installed and activated the following plugins:
    – WordPress Hide Posts plugin
    – Weglot Translate
    – GTranslate

To help rectify the issue, we have:

    Deleted the plugins
Reverted the blog back to it's original state before we made the banner/tile changes

Has anyone had any similar experiences before where they installed a plugin and had a drop in impressions? We're really out of our depth and don't know what the problem is, so if anyone could help that'd be great.

    Thanks
