Dramatic spike in views — is this accurate?

  Can you shed any light on my blog’s dramatic increase in views today? I currently have more than 6x the normal traffic (over 1200 views), with no new posts, and no change in the number of referred views. I have people from across the northern hemisphere visiting my blog, but the numbers are so different from the usual that I’m wondering if they’re accurate.

  by the end of the day, i had 10x the traffic i have today. 1300+ views vs 130+ today. 130 is the norm. so how/why did i have 1300+?

  Hi there,

  The extra views are most likely a result of a bot or some type of script hitting your blog. It looks like all of the additional views came your home page. Since your stats have returned to normal values, I think this may be a one-time case. However, if this pops up again, please let us know!
