  Greetings,
  I registered my new domain with dreamhost. I knew that I would need to have wordpress added so I checked the box that would automatically install it for me. Now I am trying to continue creating my website and wordpress is asking me to transfer my domain from my current registrar or map my domain. Are these the only choices? The person who had been advising me did not mention this step nor did they mention the fees I’d have to pay to incorporate word press in my site.

  Looks like you’re referring to a WordPress.com plan. Since you’re already hosted with Dreamhost there’s no need to transfer your domain over here or purchase any of our plans.
