Drop Caps not always showing.

When I review an article using the PREVIEW button near the top right of the create new post (or edit post) page the drop caps work fine. However, when I use the little icon next to it (what is this icon?) it add “&amp” to the end of the url and the totally different view does NOT render the drop caps at all.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi bkacat,

when I use the little icon next to it (what is this icon?) it add “&amp” to the end of the url and the totally different view does NOT render the drop caps at all.

Would you be able to send one of the URLs with “&amp” that isn’t showing drop caps at all? And are you working from the new interface or the classic WP Admin dashboard?

when I use the little icon next to it (what is this icon?)

Do you mean the link icon to the left of the post title? A screenshot of where you are clicking would be ideal if you can make one and upload it to the Media Library.

Just let me know and we can go from there.

I’m using the classic editor. When I click on the “media library” link in your post it goes to my media library. Where can I upload the screenshots for you to see?

    Correct (preview changes):

Incorrect (attached to preview changes. Looks like a lightning bolt in a circle):

As you may notice, I double the drop cap letter so that the drop cap shows yet the word itself is complete. Just a personal peccadillo.

  • The &amp is showing an AMP preview of the site, which strips out scripts, layouts, and styles in an effort to make your site lightweight and easy to render on any device.

So since you’re doubling the dropped letter, it’s showing up twice in both, just in one it’s more normal sized. Screen readers will hear that as “AAlthough” as well, so I’d recommend against that.
