Drop down menu

I am new-ish to wordpress and do not have very much experience w/ coding. I have done html but that is it. I have a wordpress theme “gateway” which I like, how can make drop down menu options along the main menu at top.
Any help is appreciated. I am clueless w/ this stuff- I just write

It appears the the gateway menu does support drop down menus so you will just need to follow these steps.
To do that on just the top menu you can go back to Dashboard>Appearance>Menus and just grab a menu item by clicking and holding down, then move them slightly to the right and they become a sub- menu item of the item above them.

That’s what I have been trying but when I hit “save menu” it refreshes and moves everything back to the far left. Then if I check my site it still wont have them in drop down format

From looking at your site it seems that the drop down is now working. Where you able to get the menu as you want it?
