How do I add a drop down menu in the navigation bar? I tried adding a custom menu, but it deleted all the other pages in the navigation bar.

The software does not ever delete anything. Only bloggers can delete postm pages, etc. I think that when you created a custom menu you failed to include the Pages in it. If so this is easy to fix. Simply go back to your custom menu and add them into your custom menu and arrange them as your desire.
