Drop down menus on smartphones
-
Hi!
I have some problems to get the drop down menus used on our site to work when browsing it on a smartphone.
When I was in contact with the wordpress support team they helped me making a small CSS change so the menu looked a little bit different. (And worked on a smartphone) However this change don’t seem to respond every time, and I only see it in the same way as when browsing it on a regular PC.
I have selected a rather old theme for the site (Adventure Journal) and therefore problems like this has occurred. But I really like the theme, so Im hoping that there is a way to modify this to get the menus to work on a smartphone. The site I’m talking about can be seen at:

I probably should say that I just redirected the wordpress site to our old domain name. So if our old site is displayed, that is the explanation. :)

The top level menu items do not have links assigned to them, and that is very likely why the menus are not working. Assign links to those top level menu items and then try again on the phone or tablet.
One suggestion is to activate the mobile theme at Appearance > Mobile so that your mobile visitors will be presented with a more simplified and easier to navigate view of your site.

Thanks for the reply!
The reason why I didn’t assigned links to the top menu is (if it’s possible) not to have subpages of all the topics on the dropdown menu. I have now enabled the mobile theme while trying to figure out if there is any other way to solve the problem. It works out to have the mobile theme activated, though the best thing would be if there is a way to watch the site normally on a phone or tablet. Anyone with more ideas? :)
