Drop-down notifications broken

  I’ve noticed several changes in the administrator’s bar in the last few days and now the drop-down notifications list (drops down from speech bubble) is messed up. It stretches halfway across my screen and clicking on an item causes some sort of weird unreadable overlay menu instead of going to the post or the commenter’s blog. I’ve tried refreshing the screen, clearing the cache, and restarting the browser (latest versions of Chrome and Firefox on a MacBook).

  No response necessary if you’re already working on this.

  Are you still seeing this behaviour? Mine seems to be working as expected and as WordPress.com is basically a giant multi-site installation I’m not sure why it would work for one person and not for others.

  If you’re still having problems it might be worth checking any recent browser extensions to see if that’s causing the issue (testing in different browsers and clearing your cache might help too).

  I just reported the same problem in the forum post entitled “Notifications menu no longer working properly.” The problem occurs in both of the browsers that I have (Safari and Firefox on a Macintosh). Till WordPress fixes the problem, the workaround I found is to click “View Archive” at the top of the popped-down Notifications menu. The archived version of the menu still works properly for me.

  @wordconnections I feel better now, knowing I’m not the only one affected. I found the same workaround you did. Still, it’s annoying not having it work properly.

  @hallluke Yes, I did all that. Several times. Didn’t help.

  Hi everyone!

  This should be fixed now. Can you clear your browser’s cache (instructions here) and see if you’re still experiencing the issue?
