Drop in daily views/hits by 75%

Hey guys, I had regularly been getting 1,500-2,000 hits a day for a few months, and then about two weeks ago, the hits suddenly dropped down to no more than 500. Is there a way to find out if my website is somehow being blocked? Or if it has possibly been included in any sort of filter that might prevent people from trying to access it? Just surprised about such a distinct drop off and such regular low numbers after getting at least 1,500 consistently. Thanks!

One of the major search engines changed their formula which apparently resulted is some people taking hits on traffic. There have been quite a few threads about it.
Are your pages image heavy?

Sorry for the duplicate thread, in that case. I’d say at least 4-5 images for each post, over 500 posts. I do get a good amount of traffic from search engines.

I don’t remember exactly when it was, but two weeks seems like the right timeframe.
Something about the way the Big G displays results on their image search pages.

I have the same problem. I usually have between 60 and 100 views, today i only have one. I’ve checked and double checked my settings and i cant find anything wrong.
I was quite for a about two weeks before i started blogging again but surely i couldn’t have taken such a hit or have i been filtered or blacklisted?
Please can WordPress staff check my blog for any technical errors. I would be most appreciative.

Google changed image search.
They ran their Panda and Penguin algorithms and apprehended everyone who had duplicate content be it images or text and they also did a page rank update.
The positioning in the SERPs (search engine page results) changed.
Some benefited and some did not.

Oh my word, thank you so much for replying. So it’s like starting a new blog again? I understand why google did it but i do think it’s a little unfair but i can’t change it. Roll with punches as they say.
