"Drop-In" Plugin Removal

  Hello, I noticed a drop-in plugin on my site today:

  object-cache.php
  APCu Object Cache

  I did not download this plugin. The plugin has been abandoned for a few years. I wanted to remove it from my site but I need to remove it from the wp-content folder in my domain providers database. I called my domain provider to get help and they said I needed to contact WordPress directly for this issue to securely remove it from my site. I would like to remove this plugin from my site, as I did not download it.

  It sounds like you are using the open source software from WordPress.org which is not hosted here at WordPress.com. Which means WordPress.com staff are limited to access your files.

  However, please try to contact the plugin’s support team to solve the issue. If they are not available you can try to contact the hosting provider support team who might be able to help you.
