Dropdown per category

Would it be be possible to dropdown per preferred category instead of shrinking all categories with one dropdown? I want some of my categories to display while only those with sub-categories should dropdown when clicked on. Hierachy simply stays the subcategories but I want them to hide.

Sorry but that’s not possible. The only two options we have for displaying categories are to show them all in the widget or show them all in a dropdown; there’s no way to limit them beyond that. You could use the Category Cloud widget which allows you to limit the maximum number of categories; that way just your more common categories will show. If you like you could send an email to staff suggesting it once support opens tomorrow; they keep track of all suggestions, so every extra one helps. :)

I am afraid at this time there is no way to just dropdown specific categories! Nice idea that passing onto staff might be a good thing though!
