Dropped from google ranks

Today if had an incredibly slow day in terms of hits to my blog. Curious, I googled entries that usually show up on first page and none of my movie reviews show up! Why have all my pages dropped off the first 3 pages, I cant find anything on google concerning my blog. Yesterday it was fine and now today I’m invisible. Any ideas? Explanations?

God works in mysterious ways…and Google works in even more mysterious ways. You’re not alone, it seems to happen to me as well every now and then as they update their search algorithm or whatever they are doing at Google HQ.

oh man. In your experience does it restore to normal after some time? Or do you have to work your way up the ranks once more?

Sorry If I wasn’t clear enough…yes, it does restore itself back to normal after a while. I think I was out of Google for a week or so before it came back to normal.

The same thing just happened to my blog. It used to appear on the first Google page for various searches, but now it’s nowhere to be found.
I hope Google finds me again soon.

BTW, oddly enough I had a 75% drop in visits for the past two days courtesy of my friends at Google for the same reason you mention in your OP. However, it seems back up again now. I’ll probably never know why.
