dropping hostgator, needing to renewal dns and get mapping

  I have several WP sites. I’ve been so impressed with what I’ve been able to do I am dropping my hosted site with hostgator and will be going with WP! I will not be renewing my hosting but hostgator has the dns renewal procedure ready to go.

  Is there a way I can pay wordpress for my domainname renewal and mapping? I understand I need to pay for mapping too, but know that it is better pricing if I buy domain name AND mapping together. My site is up for renewal in a few days. Thanks so much for your help.

  (I may be dropping all the old content and mapping the old gatorhosted site http://www.monkeychimonkeydo.com to my wp hosted site beckyjaine.com .)

  So, while we register new domains here at WordPress.com, we’re not able to accept incoming transfers of existing domain names. Therefore, we recommend that you keep the name registered at your current registrar (or transfer to another registrar of your choice) and then map the domain to us:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
