Dropping the Capote quote

    Hi,

May I suggest that you remove the Capote quote That isn’t writing at all, it’s typing which shows up near the posting goals encouragement bar after posting.

I wrote a post on this that illustrated why I thought that this was not a supportive element in response to achieving a posting goal. As I noted in this post, I’m tough enough to take it but I do think it could be taken the wrong way by someone who didn’t realise how random and impersonal the quote assignment was.

I realise that interpretation of this is a personal thing but I thought that you might want to take the opportunity to make WordPress even friendlier. As a long time Blogspot person, I’ve been really impressed by the ease of use and community support here so would love to see it improve.

(I was reminded of this today because I hit 32 posts and it came up again. You know, if you want me to stop blogging, just e-mail me. :) )

    Regards,
    Nick.

  • Sorry about that!

I’ll see what we can do.

Thank you very much! Most of the quotes are great, this one just stood out.

    Regards,
    Nick.

I don’t think you should EVER use a Capote quote without a corresponding reply from Gore Vidal. It’s only fair.
