Drupal 7.58 to WordPress
-
I want to move my website from Drupal to WordPress. How easy is the process? I saw that there is an importer for Drupal to WordPress, does it support my Drupal version? Thank you.

Hi there, I would suggest contacting the Drupal importer author to find out if it supports your version. We do not have any experience with that importer so far, and I don’t think it will work with anything here except for the WordPress Business Plan.
You many be able to do a local install of WordPress on your computer and then do the import to that installation of WordPress and then you can export the content into our standard export file and import it here at WordPress.com.
If you are talking about importing to a self-hosted WordPress installation using the software from WordPress.org, and not to one here at WordPress.com, the process would be less involved.

Okay. I did find specs listing the versions of Drupal I can migrate. I should be good there. However, how can I do a test migration to see what the site will look like before I officially transfer it? Is that possible? I plan on purchasing your business plan.

Yep. I think the best thing would be to just run the import on to a free .wordpress.com site. Set that site to be private if you’re worried about folks finding it prematurely.

Write back to me here if you have any other questions. Keep in mind that the free site won’t look exactly like your business site does – especially if you use CSS or plugins on the site. But, it should give you a good general idea.
