if you have a blog/website and you collect information from people, then you need to have your own privacystatement on your blog. The privacystatement on wordpress.com is only related to the people who use wordpress.com for their blog or website.

I use wordpress.com as you can see from my Blog adress. So therefore i myself don’t collect dates from people as i don’t host the blog myyselgf. therefore the confusion as to which statement i need and what to do. All the Informations i can find online is releated to blogs on wordpress.org.
And where can i find that privacystatement from wordpress.com? -
-
Thanks. And now do i only have to include this statement into My Blog or is there more to do?
-
The privacy statement of WordPress.com only regards the people who use WordPress.com for their site or blog and not the visites of your blog. You only must include your own privacy statement of you collect private data.

This is the latest support document from WordPress.com regarding the impending DSGVO/GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations). It seems there will be further updates in May: https://en.support.wordpress.com/automattic-gdpr/

Hi –
I’m following up on the Modlook tag.
themagicrobot has shared our most recent publication regarding GDPR. We will have more updates before this goes in to effect.
There could be more updates announced on en.blog.wordpress.com as well. It’s a good place to follow along.

Hi,
if the privacy statement of WordPress.com only regards the people who use WordPress.com for their site or blog and not the visites of your blog, as you wrote above, then WHAT IS your privacy policy towards visitors who don’t have a WordPress account? I don’t know which data you collect from the visitors of my site, so how am I supposed to make this privacy statement? -
Please don’t post into old threads like this, especially as they often also contain outdated information, as in this case.
We expect our services to be in compliance with the European Union General Data Protection Regulation that goes into effect on May 25th.
For more information about the updates we’re working on, please see our blog post here which was published yesterday:
For complete information about our use of data, please refer to our privacy policy, recently updated to add more detail:
If you want to write a Privacy Policy that discloses to your site’s visitors the information that’s collected when they follow or comment on your site, you can find a detailed description of what gets collected about them at https://jetpack.com/support/comments/#privacy
We’ll continue to update our support site and our privacy.blog with further improvements around your privacy and data control features in 2018.
