Dual use of page's featured image

    The theme I’m using at the moment is Edin but I believe the issue arises with other themes like TextBook.

    The theme supports a brief display of three featured pages on a static front page. If the page has a featured image, it displays a thumbnail of it. The page’s featured image also appears where a header image would display when you view the page alone.

    I would like to use a page describing one person as a featured page. I can make a head-and-shoulders shot of the individual the page’s featured image. That looks just fine on the static front page, where it appears as a thumbnail. But then the page by itself looks terrible because the portrait mode featured image doesn’t fit the landscape mode header space.

    Looks like I’ll have to punt on this one but I thought I’d run it by you all first.
