Dubious incoming link
-
I have this link on my dashboard:
100 Most Important Canadian Books – [removed by Trent]
When I clicked it it took me to a blogspot blog that started running a supposed scan on my computer declaring that I have a few spies on my side. Pretty fishy, as anywhere I clicked it asked to download a file. Can someone help with blocking this link?

For one thing, it’s probably not a good idea to post it in the forum. If it shows up as a trackback or something, delete it. If it doesn’t, don’t continue to click on it. Unfortunately, you can’t control who links to you.

I’ve got a similar thing – a screen comes up saying you have spies and that it is scanning your computer. It uses the title of of of my postings as part of its URL. This is from examite blogspot (won’t post the address!) I can’t see the link to my page on their site: am I just being thick?
So the only way to get rid of this thing is to contact them and ask them..?
all thoughts much appreciated
cheers

It’s spam. Contact them and ask them to take it down, but if it’s on Blogspot, contact Blogspot themselves directly, usually there’s an email to report abuse such as abuse at blogspot dot com. Try that.
