Can I recover a deleted blog address?

  Moral of the story: Read the instructions… (Because even “experts” mess up.)

  I deleted jlampitt.wordpress.com. Is the ANY way to recover it? I don’t care about prior content.

  Hi there,

  I’m sorry, but deleted blogs cannot be restored or reused, even if you deleted them by accident. Deleting a blog is permanent and the name cannot be used again. Please note that there are several warnings about this during the deletion process. The blog’s content and its address are lost.

  However, you can always start a new blog on WordPress.com, here:
  http://wordpress.com/signup/

  If it’s the blog’s address that you wanted, keep in mind that you can use the Domain Mapping upgrade to register a custom domain for your blog, or use one that your already own.

  Yep. Ok, my bad… I was in too much of a hurry and just clicked through all the warnings.

  I do have my own domain so I’ll just have to do the domain mapping.
