DuoTone theme: Can I have a subpages header on the page itself
-
Hello everyone. I am new here and I am enjoying all things wordpress has to offer so far. I am currently using the photo-centric theme “Duotone” which is minimalistic, but allows your photos to be the main focus of the blog. I am however a little conflicted about the organization of the blog. While I know I can use it as a traditional blog, I’d rather show off my images categorized into pages, and on each page, various subpages. Example. In the header, The static home page I created shows off a welcome note, then the blog, and then the following pages are Buffalo, Austria, and NYC. However I would prefer to have one page labeled places and three subpages labelled Buffalo, Austria and NYC with the option of more pages as I visit new places. In theory, I was able to do this in the dashboard, however the Duotone theme does not appear to show the subpages on the parent page itself. Thus the subpages are hidden unless I use one of the already limited (only 3) widgets to display the pages.
I was wondering if there was a work around to this, weather free or through the paid CSS editing feature.
Thank you and I hope I have worded my issue clearly.

You can write links to the subpages in the parent page.
Or you can publish posts instead of pages, and use categories and subcategories.

Posts is a far better idea. Pages are essentially nearly invisible to search engines and thus to readers, and sub-pages are a navigation nightmare. When I find sites organized that way, I quickly lose interest because it’s impossible to find your way around.
Categories is a MUCH better way to do this. If you want to see how they work, check my blog http://lolebrity.net

Thank you raincoaster for your reply. I was hoping on using a mixture of blogs and pages. Blogs to post everyday photos, random thoughts and pages to post favorite photo albums based on places I visit.I was thinking pages would be a better use to place those albums rather than have them buried in blog posts. I am going to re-think my strategy a bit and see if Categories is a better fit.

By the way, @raincoaster,
I noticed on your site you have a “Add to: Facebook | Digg | Del.icio.us | Stumbleupon | Reddit | Blinklist | Twitter | Technorati | Yahoo Buzz | Newsvine” and the end of your posts…how’d you do that?

@livegreenly
She uses the social bookmarks that are specially made for wordpress.com bloggers http://getsociallive.com We can also use these social bookmarks as well http://www.perlitalabs.com/Social_Bookmark_Builder_1_2/Link_Builder.php -
Note that for Duotone you MUST use the text options for buttons, as the images will be stripped out.
