Duped user complications

  • Unknown's avatar

I think someone created two users for me, and I only need one. ‘michaelvrangel’ was the one that started wordpress.com and therefore has all of the social aspects to it. i.e. Posts being displayed on site, and posts able to be liked by other users, etc. I am now not getting any of those capabilities with my site, and would like to get it.

I currently use mrangel86 for everything on my blog @ http://www.onwardsandupwards.co, and do not get the same benefits as the other user. PLEASE HELP!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Also, the user michaelvrangel has not been used ever since the first post.

Let me know what I should do! thanks.

    Hi there,

After looking into your accounts, I found that the username: mrangel86 does not contain a WordPress.com site – it is a self-hosted, WordPress.org site: ouadventurers.wpengine.com.

To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities. At WordPress.com, we provide hosting, support, and tons of features for blogs. Users also have the option to purchase a variety of upgrades to customize the look and feel of their blog. WordPress.org is a software for self-hosted sites. With WordPress.org, users are provided access to all backend files and can upload custom themes and plugins.

Check here to learn more about the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

Your other account under the username: michaelvrangel contains a WordPress.com site, so that is why the “benefits” differ. If you want, I can transfer one of the blogs to the other account so everything is in the same place, but please note again, the Dashboard of these two sites will differ because one is hosted through us, and one is self-hosted.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
