Duplicate blogs, one active, one not. How do I delete the old, original one?

    I have two blogs titled “Baby Barter’s First Year”. The original (at baby barter.wordpress.com), is now unused and holds the first 509 posts. At one point in time I think I copied it and purchased the value pack.

    The new one (babybarter2.wordpress.com) with 1,838 posts has the address of babybarter.me purchased from wordpress (right?) I think the old one is forwarding to the babybarter.me. I received an e-mail that site redirect will renew automatically in 14 days. I’m assuming that is redirecting the old one to the new one.

    When I go into the dashboard of the old one I don’t have all the menus on the left. There is no store to cancel the auto renew. Also Tools does not have a way to cancel this blog, but only “Press This”. The Store/My Upgrades on the new site doesn’t show the Redirect upgrade, only the Value Bundle.
    I’m afraid if I do anything I might delete my good blog. Bottom line I want to get rid of the old site with the 509 blogs and not be billed for Redirect.

    Don’t delete any blogs as deleting is irreversible.

    Hi there,

    I only see the new site associated with your user name. The mapping you may have seen a message about is necessary to keep the domain name (babybarter.me) associated with the blog itself – you would need mapping for any domain name to associate it with the account.

    So it looks like you should be all set – you aren’t getting any phantom charges that I can see (unless you have a second user account?).

    When I log in under the user name nancyatt I see three sites:
    dwtxstaff.wordpress.com (a dormant experiment)
    babybarter2.wordpress.com (the new one)
    babybarter.wordpress.com (this is the old one.)

    You don’t see babybarter.workpress.com (if you’re being me)? But I do see if you type in the long addresses, they both go/forward to the correct location of babybarter.me.

    zandyring, if you don’t think there is a problem, I’ll take timethief’s advice and leave everything alone!

    Hi there, I was checking under babybarter2 username, which is only linked to that one blog.

    But regardless, TT is right – you don’t really have to worry about the other blogs; you will be right as rain if you continue as-is! The old blog isn’t affecting your new blogs, and you’re not getting billed for that routing or anything like that.
