‘Duplicate’ comments

It’s my blog and I can repeat myself if I want to.
Suddenly, WordPress says I can’t. (‘Duplicate Comment Detected’) It’s a real pain, since I’m having a conversation with others. Sometimes, the same words are used in reply, but it’s no ‘duplicate.’ Hasn’t been an issue before, but now?
A nice setting, but it shouldn’t be a robot’s choice.

The “duplicate comment detected” feature of the WordPress software was introduced in version 2.0.0 in December 2005 and last updated in 5.5.0 in August 2020, so it’s not a new feature.
Anything that would be caught by that should either be in your pending comments or possibly in spam.
If you still have trouble can you link to your comments and which ones have been getting caught by this warning so we can take a closer look? Thanks.
