Duplicate content

I have migrated all my old blog posts to the blog now hosted on my eCommerce platform. I have deleted all the posts and forwarded the domain to eliminate the duplicate content penalty from Google. I saw what appeared to be some RSS site that had copies of my old blogs: http://kidsafe5.rssing.com/chan-5345015/latest.php Is there a way to eliminate that? Can that be controlled?
I also saw that Blog Catalog had indexed some of our posts. Can that be eliminated?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

If there’s a contact info area for those sites, you could request that your links be removed.

As for old links indexed in Google, Google will eventually update its records as it crawls those links and sees they no longer work. If you have the ability to change your permalink structure on your new site to match the old one (day and name), those indexed permalinks might redirect. If that’s not something you’re concerned about, however, I wouldn’t worry about it. Google will reflect the new site eventually.
