Duplicate Linked Site

Hi there. I hope you are well and that this is an easy fix.
I had a self hosted site on Bluehost (k-woo.com) that expired. I did not renew within the window to keep the domain and so I had to purchase and register it again. Now when I login to the site on my desktop, I can see the new site (named Kori Woo) and it’s posts. However, on the app I see the old one. Until today I could also see the list but not open each of the old posts. Now, I can’t see anything when i go to the posts/pages sections.

On the desktop when I look at the global dashboard, under linked sites, I see the same URL listed twice, one with the expired site title and one with the one I recently purchased. If possible I would like to move the posts and WordPress followers from the site titled ‘Astreaux & Woo’ to the one titled ‘Kori Woo’. If not possible, can the site titled ‘Astreaux & Woo’ be removed so that I can access the new site’s information on the app?

    WP.com: Unknown
    Jetpack: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

    Hi there,

http://www.k-woo.com is a site hosted with Bluehost and uses open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org), whereas this forum deals with sites hosted through WordPress.com.

The WordPress.com and WordPress.org sites are completely different: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org

To get help with your issues, you may want to try posting your question at the WordPress.org support forum: https://wordpress.org/support/forums

    Hope this helps! :)

Hey there, so I linked my wordpress.org site hosted on bluehost to my wordpress.com account. here’s an image for reference

The problem I’m having is in the wordpress.com app, I can see the site that’s noted as ‘old’ whereas the one that is ‘new’ is not showing up. it is not allowing me to remove it because it’s saying ‘duplicate site detected’ or ‘couldn’t retrieve site info’.

I’m going to add a post to their forum just in case (thanks for that). But I’m not sure just yet because wordpress.com is where I’m experiencing this issue.

I went to the jetpack disconnect site instructions and removed the new one. However, the old one which is a site that no longer exists is not connected to jetpack, so I’m not sure what to do from there.

  • Normally you can still disconnect the old one if it’s still listed as a Jetpack site on your WordPress.com account!

Are you able to head to the old site’s general settings in your WordPress.com account, and use the “manage connection” option to remove it? It’s in the site management, not your My Blogs section; head to Settings > General and it should be at the bottom of the page.

Let us know if you encounter any issues with it and we can try to check as well.
