Duplicate photos

I am posting photos once, but they are appearing twice. How do I eliminate one copy without deleting both? Thanks. See example below.

Hi there,
The link which you gave me appears to have changed, but I did find a similarly-named page right here:

I didn’t see any duplicate photos, but I can see how there is a photo which wasn’t inserted correctly and so there is a link instead of the photo. You can clear just clear out that link and re-insert the photo as intended and it should show correctly. If you’d like I can take care of it for you as well.

Thanks. I am going to try to redo the whole post. I will try to insert each photo with its descriptive cutline separately. Can you clarify what is the coding to “start” and “end” an inserted photo? Is it ><? >a<?
Since you can’t manipulate text and photos directly in the post, it would be helpful to know where a photo begins and ends in code.

Hi there,
A typical photo code will begin with
<imgand end with a/>, however in WordPress.com, especially if you have a caption, there may also be something inside of square brackets (the [ and ] symbols) which also will modify an image. You can always manipulate any image or text in a post by navigating to the post edit screen (log in to your Dashboard and then go to Posts >> click on your post). By default the Visual editor is loaded, but if you click the tab to the upper right of the editor window, you can toggle between the visual and text editor.
The Text editor is the code version of your page. It will allow you to edit each aspect of your post. Be careful as you can make changes which do not translate well visually, however you can do many things on the text editor which you cannot do easily on the visual editor!

I still don’t get it. I added four pages of a document (DAR application), one after the other, and they came out scattered. I don’t know how to rearrange them to make them show up in order. When I tried, the captions separated from the art.
Also, I also can’t seem to place the items side-by-side to make them more visually pleasing and to take up more space. I’ve tried placing some “left,” some “right,” but they still end up stacked. Please help.

Hiya,
If you’re adding multiple images, the best way is usually to create a small gallery which will automatically space your images for you in a pleasing way:

Otherwise, you will have to go in to the Text editor instead of the visual editor and try to play with spacing by using HTML code, which is something which is generally not recommended in most cases.

I’ve figured it out, with your help. Galleries are, indeed, wonderful.
Thanx so much.Nancy
