Duplicate subscription widget/link on posts
-
I was excited to see WordPress’s new blog subscriptions widget, and set it up on the right-hand side of my blog. However, if you look at my posts, you’ll notice I’ve been including at the bottom of each post a share this/subscribe (using Feedburner)/follow on Facebook set of options for readers. I want to have all my subscriptions through WP instead, but can’t figure out what link to use for readers to sign up for the same subscription “service” available via the widget on the right-hand side. I tried checking out the page source, but it doesn’t give me the info I need, and apparently the post templates don’t support javascript.
Suggestions?? Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We cannot use javascript and some other codes on wordpress.com blogs as the software strips the code out to preserve security on this multiuser blogging platform. See > http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/

But is there any other way to give the link to the same subscription service without using the js form?

I do not believe there is a link you can post for the wordpress.com blog subscription. What I do know is that in order to subscribe to your blog via the wordpress.com subscription service I would have to visit your blog at least once to enter my details.

Well, people already would be on the blog reading the posts. So what you’re saying is that they have to click the widget button on the right-hand side in order to subscribe, there’s no way to put the same button/link at the bottom of each post as well?

I understand. And there’s no way to create a regular html link to the same subscription “service”– it all has to be done through the widget?
-
Apparently not. I know this because another member asked this question recently and the Staff response was that there is no such link.

Thanks. It seems a silly setup, maybe it was an oversight on the part of the development team. I hope they eventually make it more workable!

This subscription service is a very new feature and I think Staff would benefit from you taking the time to express the need for such a link. Here’s the Staff contact link http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

@thetwistingkaleidoscope One thing you could do is create a page that talks about the benefits of subscribing and mention that the sign up form is right on the sidebar. Then you could direct people to that page. But… if the sign up form is right on the sidebar, then they should see it from any post they visit anyway. It’s probably even more visible in the sidebar at the top than it would be at the bottom of every post.
