Duplicate URLs
-
Hi There,
Recently, I have created a website with two categories i.e. example.com/written-test and example/oral-test.
Now, when I am trying to create a post using both posts then it is not working properly.
Example….
I want Two Posts
First, example.com/written-test/America
Second, example.com/oral-test/AmericaBut When I Am trying to publish second post then it is something like example.com/oral-test/America-2 instead of example.com/oral-test/America. I checked all posts under the category “oral-test” but no one is identical so How can I resolve this problem, I want URL example.com/oral-test/America not example.com/oral-test/America-2
PLEASE HELP ME

Hi,
Try changing the permalink of your page. It should work.
You can view the slug in the editor for a post or page in the Document settings under ‘Permalink’. It should be an option on the right.

Hope this helps
Thanks

Hey Adarsh,
I tried all the things but nothing worked.
I have created 2 different categories “written-test” and “oral-test” and then published a post under the category “written-test” where the URL is example.com/written-test/america and now when i am trying to create an another webpage for america under different category then I am getting “-2”. I do not have any image in media section, no nothing, I have checked all the sections.
Am i getting “-2” because I already created the webpage “America” under different category which is “written-test”??

Hi there!
It is not possible to use the same slug on two posts/pages, that’s why the second post gets the
-2added to it.
The categories do not matter in this case, because the slug of the post does not contain the category. Here you can read more about slugs:
