Thanks Sunil Chauhan :)
Hi @gottfriedmoh, are you removing this account or another one? Do you need to transfer any sites, upgrades, or content off the old account first? If you’ll let us know what the other account is, we can likely check on that for you.

I seem to be running two sites when I really only want one.
I want the second one disconnected and deleted permanently. Unfortunately, it’s not letting me do so. Can this be done immediately?
The second one has about 31 or so followers. That’s the one I want to be disconnected and deleted permanently. I have no idea how this happened.
But carry the same name

Hi there,
If you’re referring to banterrepublic.blog, then that site is only connected to your WordPress.com account. Please follow these instructions to disconnect it:
-
I have a duplicate WordPress account.
I have tried to manually disconnect it from my WordPress to no avail.
Under sites, it shows that I have two. My main and this duplicate I am trying to get rid of.
I need this sorted immediately because users are following the duplicate and engaging thinking it is mine.
Please sort it out ASAP

Please post updates to https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/duplicate-wordpress-account/ where you have already replied. Creating duplicate threads for the same issue makes it very difficult for us to keep track of updates.
Thanks.

I have a duplicate WordPress account.
We haven’t been able to guess yet what that other account is. Could you send more details? What is the username, or site address associated with each account? If you’ll send enough information for us to find the other account, and let us know which one you intend to keep, we can go from there.

@gottfriedmoh, if you’ll tell us what the other account is, or give us some information to help us look it up, we’ll go from there. In the meantime, be sure to reply here rather than creating new threads.

Both accounts are called Banter Republic with the exact same gravatar.
The difference between both is that one of them has, as of now, 4,938 followers.
The second one has 33 followers. This is the one I’m trying to get rid of.
Both accounts are connected to my dashboard so it’s messing up with my notifications and stats.
I don’t see how I can be any more clear. A simple search of “Banter Republic” will show both accounts at a glance.
-
What is the actual username of the duplicate account (i.e., the username of the account you’re posting from is gottfriedmoh)? That will make it much easier for us to find the account, I think.

Hi folks,
Under sites, it shows that I have two. My main and this duplicate I am trying to get rid of.
So is it duplicate SITES or is it ACCOUNTS? Are they both banterrepublic.blog?

As @fstat mentioned above, you have connected the site to your account via Jetpack and you’ll want to disconnect it as explained here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/disconnect-jetpack-sites/
You will still have admin access to that site as it’s a WordPress.com hosted one.
-
This is certainly odd. If I click on the website address I’m taken to a wordpress.com website that displays the Admin bar and the whois entry shows the name servers as wordpress.com. ??!
Sorry, on my tablet and neglected to ask if it is the jetpack connection that causes the duplicate site??
