Duplicate WordPress Account
-
I have two sites.
I want to disconnect/deactivate one of them.
The challenge is, I can’t seem to find the button to disconnect. Instead, I get error messages. Can this be resolved ASAP?

Hi there,
What is the URL of the site you are trying to deactivate? Happy to take a closer look!
-
The URL is https://banterrepublic.blog/
But the issue is that both of the sites have the same URL. The one I want to keep, and the one I want to delete.

Hi there,
The site currently appearing at https://banterrepublic.blog/, is the WordPress.com site with the underlying site address, gottfriedmoh.wordpress.com
That WordPress.com site belongs to you, but the domain upgrade for the banterrepublic.blog domain belongs to another admin on the site,
davideweleThen it appears this domain is also associated with a self-hosted WordPress site, connected to your account via the Jetpack plugin.
So which of these are you trying to remove? Do you want to remove the Jetpack connection from your account, or do you want the domain to display your Jetpack site, rather than the WordPress.com site?
-
I want to remove the other admin site under Davidewele. I also want to disconnect it from my WordPress site.
I want it permanently deleted. And shutdown.

I want to remove the other admin site under Davidewele.
The other admin owns the domain, banterrepublic.blog.
So before you can remove them from your WordPress.com site, they’ll either need to transfer ownership of the domain to you, or if they’re keeping the domain, they need to transfer it to another site in their own account.

Once that is done you can remove them from the WordPress.com site at My Site ->Manage ->People.
I also want to disconnect it from my WordPress site.

Of which site are you speaking? gottfriedmoh.wordpress.com, which is hosted with us on WordPress.com, or your Jetpack-connected site that’s hosted somewhere else?
If you want to delete the WordPress.com site, note that you can’t do that as long as a domain upgrade is connected to the site. Any WordPress.com upgrade must be connected to an example.wordpress.com site in order to exist.
You can have the domain registered with us, and point it to a different site hosted somewhere else, but the WordPress.com site for which you originally bought the domain will need to continue to exist for as long as you want to keep the domain registered with us.
