Duplicated pictures
-
When adding a picture to my post, it looks fine on the home page in the excerpt, but when clicking on the ‘continue reading’, the picture is duplicated on the full post page.
I’ve tried everything I can think of to fix it, but maybe I’m missing something. Any help would be appreciated.

Also one more question, if I may….as a first time user of WordPress.com, I’m trying it out on the free plan. Can I not use the ‘Press This’ feature with this plan, for curating articles from the web?

Hi there,
Im not able to see you your site, so let me rephrase this to see if I understood you correctly.
Your post excerpt is showing in your homepage and you like the size of the image, but then when you see the actual post the image is too big?
If this is the case, it depends on the theme wether you can change the size of the featured image or not.
Or when you say duplicated it means that it’s showing twice in the post?
Please, let us know about thisAlso,
Can I not use the ‘Press This’
https://wordpress.com/support/sharing/#customizing-sharing-settings.
Hope this helps -
You’ve mostly got it….the homepage shows the image, size is great, looks good, etc……but when you click on the ‘continue reading’ the image appears twice at the top of the artcle, once in large size, then below it, the image appears again, but at a slightly smaller size. I’m just trying to stop the image from being double posted in the full article. If I try removing one, it removes both. There’s no ‘feature’ image set via the edit page at all.
In terms of the ‘Can I not use the ‘Press This”….as I originally mentioned, I’m asking if I can use the Press This browser button to curate an article I like to my site. I’m not asking how to add a ‘Press This’ to my site for those who might want to curate a post ‘from’ my site.
Thanks for your help. Greatly appreciated.
Kind regards -
I should have also mentioned that, while I can add the Press This option to my browser, when I try to use it, the process functions like it’s working/posting it to my site, but after updating, my site has a dead link/’site unavailable’ instead of the article being curated to my site.
Apologies. I could have been clearer on everything mentioned, because I forgot that my site was not yet made public. (Wanted to make sure it looked right before scarring anyone’s eyes with a hot mess.)
Kind regards

because I forgot that my site was not yet made public
No worries,
But could you make it public so i can look into it and help you?
Since im also not a pro, but just trying to figure things, it’s easier for me to help you if I can check your site.
Unless you share you url with people, it’s not going to be visible in google yet.
But don’t let me rush you into it, I’ll keep looking for an answer anyways. -
On the topic of Press This.
1.Did you highlight the content you wanted to post and the click “Press this”?
2.Have you tried it in another browser?
3.Have you tried deleting and reinstalling?
If none of this work, we can tag the staff on this matter. -
When I write the post, I add the title and under that I add the photo. I align the photo to the left and let the body copy wrap along the right and then below the photo, the copy runs the full width. It’s exactly how I want it during the process of writing it, but the minute I preview it, publish it, or click on ‘continue reading’ from the main blog page to take me to the full page post, that’s when the photo is being duplicated. And again, if I try to edit the post to remove the extra copy of the photo, then both get removed and no photo appears. At this point, I’m just repeating myself as to what the issue is. I’ve also noted that any image that I upload ends up with not one image, but three (which I did notice was another issue raised by a different poster)…so, that too is repeating an image.
With regard to the Press This, I did highlight the content, but it would only indicate that the ‘site was not available’ on my blog, and that was trying the process with different sites, so it wasn’t just the one site I was trying to curate from. I did not try deleting and reinstalling, nor did try to use another browser, because I have no intention of swapping between browsers just for this purpose.
Thank you for trying to help. It’s definitely appreciated.
Kind regards -
Ok, so again, this is me guessing, as I can’t see what’s actually on your blog.
But for what I ‘ve read you have an issue between your edit page and your preview. Let’s say that your preview is always right. (Is a good idea to have both tabs opened so you can check your changes) sometimes we get to see things in the edit page that are not quire there on the preview, so always check how your work is going.
Second, I hear you want an image on the left, surrounded by text, then you should add, not an image, but the correct block. You can click on add, at the bottom you’ll find “BROWSE ALL”, then go to “PATTERNS” and then go around the different categories until you find something close to what you want (be creative here, because even if you don’t find the exact thing, you can change every part of these blocks).
Also, don’t hesitate on creating your own thing using columns, maybe you need to create 2 columns, and then add an image to one of them. I find columns very useful to align things. Try them!!
And please, do tell me if this is useful or you need further help.
Good luck! -
I’m sorry, but at this point, you’re not listening or helping. I don’t need help with the text or how it wraps the image. I’ve said that I’ve already done that. I have duplicated images in the full page post. You shouldn’t have to ‘guess’ about what’s happening, given that I’ve explained it at least twice now.
If anyone knows how to stop that from happening, that would help a lot.
Kind regards

Hi there!
I don’t see duplicate images on https://jaksonsjournal.wordpress.com/ – were you able to fix that? Or are you referring to a different site?
This issue can sometimes happen, depending on your theme setup. If you can share a link to a spot where this happens, we’ll be happy to have a look and advise. As for the
Press Thisissue – what’s the site you were trying to share?
