duplicated wordpress sites

  • Unknown's avatar

there are two copies of my site, one with http and the other (and active one) with https.
If I try to access any of those urls both will take me to the good site but when I try to connect jetpack for woocommerce purpose then I get an error because here in wordpress.com dashboard exists both separately and I can’t access to the one I want to delete because it doesn’t exist anymore

How can I delete the bad one?

The site I need help with is [visible only to staff] (email visible only to moderators and staff). It is not hosted by WordPress.com, but it is connected with Jetpack.

  • Hi there,

Since WordPress.com sites do not have http versions, I believe you site was built with the self-hosted version of WordPress, often called WordPress.org.

Because your site is not hosted on our WordPress.com servers, we won’t be able to help you with deleting them.

To clarify, there are several providers of WordPress sites, but they use a different version of the platform than what we use here. Because of this we are not able to help with your question as it lies outside of our system.

For more info about the differences visit: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

You can find support for your self-hosted WordPress site here: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

I believe you will be able to delete sites through your host provider. If you are not sure who is your host provider you can look it up here: http://whois.domaintools.com/ Just enter your site URL (it is not visible for me) and look for the Registrar information.

  • Hi there,

It sounds like you’re trying to disconnect a Jetpack site that no longer exists from your WordPress.com account, correct?

You should be able to do that from the page at https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs, but if that doesn’t work, please let me know the exact URL(s) of the site(s) you want disconnected, and we can disconnect it for you manually.
