duplication of notifications continues…

  the support topic I was using is closed. I needed to start a new one.

  I am a member of WordPress but have no blog. I have removed all subscriptions from several of the sites, and even with the removal, and the unsubscribe in place, I am receiving notifications, in duplicate, for every post made but so far only from one site. If I visit the site and do NOT click anything, just read, I get a notice about it. If I respond, and do NOT click anything, I am told congratulations, you are now a subscriber, even though Im not.
  If I try (as was suggested) to just allow followup posts via email, I get the same thing. I am not subscribed, but WP seems to think I am.

  all I have to do is read there, anywhere on the site–not comment or hit the ‘send new posts to email”, and when I leave it says “congratulations, you’re subscribed”. And I have no subscriptions for it, no email notifications checked off, so I can’t unsubscribe to it.
  It seems to be a glitch between me and the blog there, because other wordpress places (including this one) send me only what I ask for.

  All the others are well behaved now, no one sends me anything unless I ask and then its just one at a time.

  there may have been a problem at my end; our email package is about as confusing as WP at times, and sometimes does things because it can; it turns out that there was an extra box checked off that managed to override every other command but only about that one site. Ive done something to it, this may work.

  (I still don’t understand why, though, if I have no subscriptions listed for that site, and no email notifications checked off, it should insist on subscribing just because I read there, or post there. It doesnt ask, it tells me. )

  I’m glad you were able to fix this on your end. I don’t see an active subscription to that site, so you shouldn’t receive new post or comments notifications for it anymore. If you continue to have trouble with it, please let me know.

  thanks, rachel. I havent had an active subscription there for two or three days, but if I post Im almost sure Ill get a “congratulations, youve just subscribed!” with no input from me. I’ll have to try it out to see what happens. Fingers crossed here
