Want to have local tags and Categories
-
It seems (at least to me) that part of the duster theme is coded wrong. Underneath a post there are 2 spots with relevant info. There is the Posted in section that displays the relevant categories and then Tagged which obviously displays relevant tags.
Both of these items redirect to the same place, a wordpress page outside of my blog. If I add the category widget in my sidebar it functions as categories should. When I click one it displays a page still inside my blog with all posts that have been labeled with that category. Shouldn’t the categories under the post work the same way? Right now those 2 different sections are redundant since if you have “advertising” in both of them, they both redirect to “http://en.wordpress.com/tag/advertising/” when the category really should redirect to “http://righthat.wordpress.com/category/advertising/”.
I don’t want my readers clicking a category under a post and be redirected out of my blog.

The tags and categories in your posts will lead to the WordPress.com global tags pages. The tags or categories in the sidebar widgets will lead to your posts on your blog only.
You can have all tags and categories stay local by going to ‘Settings’ -> ‘Privacy’ and select “I would like to block Search Engines, but allow normal visitors”. This will keep all tags and categories local, but will keep you off of the search engines.
The Global Tag Listings at WordPress.com aggregate all published posts attached to any particular tag or category and increases your Search Engine exposure.

Good info to know. In the future it would be helpful is there was a way to possibly switch between the way these could work. I really don’t want to link out to the wordpress global tags at the bottom of every post but at the same time don’t want to exclude myself from search engines since this is a blog for a business and kind of important that it shows up in a search.
I can see a user clicking a tag at the bottom instead of the tag in the sidebar (if you turn that widget on) and wondering why they are being redirected out of the blog.
