Dyad: getting 3 posts horizontally across
-
How does one get 3 posts horizontally across with their featured thumbnail photo like the example that’s offered up by Automattic. Is there a particular size of photo that Dyad by default pulls latest posts for 3 posts across.
I’m testing it and I get 1 post or 2 posts across with the text.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The optimal featured-image size for Dyad is 1800px wide by 1280px high. Dyad demo shows only two posts across: https://dyaddemo.wordpress.com/
I too see only two posts across on my blog although the screenshot in the theme support page shows three posts: https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/dyad/
Try setting the featured images to the the aforementioned size and see if it helps display three posts.
For any theme, information about the image sizes and other specs are documented at the end of the theme’s support page. For Dyad, the support page is at https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/dyad/
You will find the Quick Specs section at the end of the above page.

Nearly hard to believe why that big size and then down to 3 on thumbnail. Maybe it’s a proportion thing with mathematical forumulae that the designer worked out.

Either the screenshot in the Dyad support page is outdated or there is a way to make three thumbnail images.
I have tagged this thread for staff’s attention to check which is it.

Hi there,
This is determined automatically based on screen size. The screen shot on the support page was taken with a wide screen, showing three posts across. Viewing the demo page on my laptop (13″) shows only one post horizontally, but if I zoom out in my browser I can also see two to three posts across the more I zoom out.
So this isn’t something you can control, but will depend on the screen of the person visiting your site.
I hope this information helps.

Hi there staff-happychia,
I can also confirm that on my screen resolution of 1920×1200 with maximized browser window, I can see 3 posts across. For resolutions with a width between 1200px and 1600px there are 2 posts across and a width less than 1200px will only show 1 post across.
If you don’t mind making the posts smaller, you can use the below CSS hack to show 3 posts at a width of 1200px+. Please note however that you will need to have either WordPress.com Premium or WordPress.com Business active in order to use custom CSS codes more details can be found at https://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/editing-css .
@media only screen and (min-width: 1200px) { .posts .hentry { width: 33.3333%; } }You can play with the width to fit your needs.
Please feel free to post if you need anything else.
Take care,
Onur
