Dyad theme only showing one post below featured
-
Hi, I have the Dyad theme on this blog I set up. I like the checker-board look shown in the themes gallery but it’s only showing one entry below the featured panel. I have done five, and for a while it was showing three (one row).
What I would like is to get that checker-board look and also an infinite scroll (or at least a much longer set of blog entries). Can anyone suggest how to achieve this?
Have been testing in Edge, Opera and Vivaldi on Windows 10. Same on all three. Sorry the blog is closed (it’s for my daughter who is only six so only for friends) but if it would help anyone to have a look I can invite you.
Also, I have de-selected “display author” in the content options but it is still showing the author on the mobile version. Any ideas how to fix that?
Thanks much in advance from a technical dum-dum
Dominic

The mobile ready theme is a default theme and a completely different theme that you do not need to enable, if your theme is listed as a responsive layout theme here https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/responsive-layout/
The mobile default theme is provided for those who run older themes that aren’t the gold standard which is responsive layout.
A responsive layout theme adapts to different screen sizes so that your website will work (and be optimized for) iPhones, iPads, Android and other mobile devices. When responsive width themes are viewed on mobiles sidebars appear below the posts in order to provide as much space as possible for reading.
When we use a responsive theme we disable the mobile theme. Go to >Dashboard > Appearance > Mobile and disable the mobile theme

Wow thanks for the super-speedy and helpful responses. Look forward to hearing from someone but will also look into other themes. Hope I can stick with this one though

You’re welcome. Staff respond to threads tagged with modlook in date stamp order from the earliest to the most recent, as would be expected. It’s a weekend so be patient while waiting.

Hmmm Dyad IS responsive and the mobile theme was already switched off. So maybe Dyad has a bug – sorry again for being thick but where do I report that?

Hi there,
There is nothing wrong with the theme. You just don’t have enough posts yet. The one post appearing in the grid is the one post not set as featured. That’s how it’s supposed to work.
In the featured content section you have it on the default setting to not show featured posts in the main content area as well. In other words, a post can appear in the grid, or in the featured slider, but not both.
If you want to change this, go to the Customizer, click on Featured content, and check the box that says “Display tag content in all listings.” Then any post in the slider will also appear in the latest posts section below the slider.
