dyad theme–tagline not showing on header image

  • Unknown's avatar

I am using Dyad theme. I did not use the feature content function so expect the header to display the header image that I set up and tagline. The tagline, however, does not show up anymore. My website is brownchina.org. Thank you so much!

    Hi there,

I am having the same issue currently with my website at http://www.gitagoglobal.com

please kindly check this and let us know, thanks!

  • Thanks for reporting this issue!

We’ve tracked down the problem and deployed a fix.

I’ve double-checked both of your sites, and they’re now displaying the tagline as expected.

Please let us know if you have any questions, or run into further issues! :)

Same issue here — tagline isn’t showing up on my site: themondaymorningtape.com

Any help would be appreciated — thanks!

  • Hello!

It sounds like this is slightly different than the issue reported above:

When Dyad displays the tagline, it’s used as a fallback for the Featured Content slideshow. If you don’t have a tag assigned for your Featured Content, or if no posts have that tag, the theme will display the tagline in the same spot with the Custom Header image as the background.

You can see an example of this in the last image of the theme’s documentation, above the ‘Custom Menu’ header: https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/dyad/

On the left, it shows the Custom Header image and tagline; on the right, the Featured Content slideshow.

On your site, it looks like the theme is behaving as expected: the tagline isn’t showing, because the site is displaying Featured Content posts instead. If the Featured Content was removed, the theme would display your tagline instead.

Please let us know if you have any further questions about this, or if I’ve misunderstood the issue at all!

    Thanks!
