Dynamic Homepage

Hi – I am trying to setup my blog so that the homepage displays my most recent blog entry only. I have a ‘recent posts’ menu link that would then display all of my previous published posts.

Is it possible to easily display my most recent post instead of having to copy and paste my most recent post content into the ‘home’ page when its set to be static? I am using the theme Snaps.

What is the URL starting with http:// of the exact site referred to?

    https://niccouturierblog.wordpress.com/

You will notice that the ‘home’ link pulls up blog post 3 which is what I set it to. But then if you go to https://niccouturierblog.wordpress.com/ then it pulls in the most recent posts again.

I am trying to avoid having to create a blank page (that I would have to manually copy my most recent entry) that the static homepage loads. Hope that makes sense.

By default, the URL of any site is the front page of the site like this https://niccouturierblog.wordpress.com/ unless we change it.

re: creating a static front page
By default the front page of your blog displays all published posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. That is for the convenience of your returning visitors, who come to read your latest post, and who are not likely to be happy with being compelled to click through the same static page with the same blah, blah, blah on it every time they visit the blog looking for the latest post.

There must be a page for all posts published in the blog to display on. However, if you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page called for example “Welcome” for your site and a “Blog” page for posts.

To do that create two pages first http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/

After you do that you go to > Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”.
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/

    A static page (select below)
