Dynamic moving headers
-
Do you have a dynamic header set up for the first page?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
No, but we do have themes with post sliders for featured content and featured images. You can browse 20 free themes with that feature here https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/post-slider+featured-images/?sort=free

Well I tried another theme and in the process lost my old one that I like much better. Is there a way to get it back without losing anything?
-
Sure. Switching themes can be easily done. Themes are just “skins” on WordPress.COM hosted blogs. You can quickly and easily change themes on any WordPress.COM hosted blog to another one found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and no data will be lost or negatively affected by the change. The only time you may have to do a lot of work is if you are changing to a dramatically different theme with different features and/or if you have done any CSS editing.
Just type in the name of the theme you used to run which I believe was Bold Life. The theme is an old retired them that has not been updated for a couple of years and may not support all WordPress features.
Provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the blog go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes, Browse themes until you find one you like and click the “activate” or the “preview” link, or type in the name of the theme you want to use when it appears.
The theme customizer https://en.support.wordpress.com/customizer/ provides a preview function for exactly that purpose ie. so you can view what a theme will appear like prior to changing one.

Thank you, Timethief, for the help. I followed the directions and my old site reappeared. Sometimes it may be best to leave well enough alone.
Again a big thank you for your time in getting me back and running again.
I am giving serious thought to abandoning my mailing list send out program and going with WordPress only for my newsletter style of strength and fitness information.
How long have you been doing this with WordPress? Are you a premium subscriber, if so what are the benefits? The same for the benefits of having a .me to the URL. Are there any other than ego? -
I have answered support questions here for nearly 10 years. I am not a premium subscriber. For many years both my blogging tips blog and my personal blog did have domains of their own but I chose to remove them, stop blogging twice weekly, and to divert my time and energy away from blogging. Though I still do answer question here most days, I’m currently focused on my singing.
