    Hi there,

if we take out the e-commerce bundle from yourselves do we need to add woocommerce or will your platform allow us to sell stock, book training and sell downloadable content

The WooCommerce plugin comes pre-installed on the WordPress.com eCommerce plan:

Here is from where one can subscribe to the eCommerce plan:

    Hope this helps!

  • Hi there,

The WordPress software doesn’t come with any ecommerce features built in. At its core, WordPress is a simple content management system, designed to let you manage posts and pages on a website without having to code everything. But it’s designed so you can extend to do anything you want, and this is done using plugins.

So for ecommerce features, you need an ecommerce plugin, like WooCommerce. There are other options as well, but WooCommerce is by far the most used, and also what we recommend – WooCommerce is made by the same company that runs WordPress.com, which means we are able to provide in-depth support for that plugin, which we cannot provide for plugins made by other companies.

You can use WooCommerce on either our Business or eCommerce plan, but on eCommerce it comes pre-installed, along with the Storefront theme, and some additional plugins.

Let me know if you have any other questions about this.

  • Hey @davewilders, just checking in to see if you have other questions.

WooCommerce is preinstalled on the eCommerce plan, which also includes support and maintenance as you’re getting your site set up. The plan is designed just for your type of situation. Let us know if you need more help!
