E-commerce and domain

    Do I have to have am e-commerce plan in order to start my account? For the moment we are just going to be using this as a testing to see if what we want to do will work.

    Also for now because it will just be testing we don’t want to transfer our domain so can we just use a free or test domain?

    The short answer to all of these questions is: yes.

    You can absolutely set up a free site to test out the WordPress.com platform. However, there may be specific features that are be unavailable on the free plan. So it may or may not fit your testing requirements:

    Also, you are correct that you can just use the ______.wordpress.com domain if you wish until you are ready to move your domain to WordPress.com.
