E-mail Address Change
-
Hi, so I’ve just changed my email address. But I found that I can still log in to my WordPress account with my previous email address, and that is not what I want. Is there anyway I can delete my previous email address permanently?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The e-mail address registered with your WordPress.com account is your unique identifier. There are two main types of email notifications that you’ll receive from WordPress.com.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/email-notifications/Blog notifications for the admin (like comment moderation, Likes, new subscriptions, etc) are sent to the email address at Settings -> General in the Dashboard.
Personal notifications (like comments on your post, subscription emails, and upgrade renewals) are sent to the email address at Users -> Personal Settings in the Dashboard.

If you attempt to change the e-mail address in your Personal Settings and find that it never sticks after saving the changes the e-mail address you are attempting to use is probably associated with another WordPress.com account. Thanks for your reply. I did find that article too. My situation, however, is that I successfully changed by email address (receiving confirm email, and new email address now appears on my setting page) but I can still log in to my WordPress account with my previous email address. It seems that I in effect didn’t change my login id but merely add a new email address as my login id.

Since this deals with sensitive account information, I’m sending you an email to the address which we have on file. If you could check there, we can continue this conversation off of the forums!
