e-mail address is already being used, what does that mean?

  Try to change my email address and this is the confusing message I get. That e-mail address is already being used is the message I am getting. That is not true, I am using a hotmail address and I can not change it to gmail. What seems to be the problem? Thanks.

  This normally means that the email address you’re trying to change to is already used by another account at WordPress.com. Do you remember setting up another account with that address?

  If you provide the email address you’re trying to change to on your account, I’m happy to check for you. Please note, the email will appear as “redacted” in the forum thread, but it will be visible to staff members.

  Hi Lee,

  Yes, that email address was previously used for a WordPress.com account. If you no longer remember the account password, you can enter the email address here:

  https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword

  That should help you get access to your other account. Can you give that a try?

  Tried that now I am getting 404 error code. I tried deleting some of the sites, looks like I have to go into Domains and change some things. All to complicated to me. PLANET EARTH NEWSLETTER.ORG is really all I need.
  Thinking maybe changing email address is creating serious issues. I will just keep what I have. Thanks for trying to help out.

  Oh no! I’m sorry you’re receiving the 404’s. If you would like to give this another try, I’m happy to help. Please just make sure you’re logged out of WordPress.com when you enter your email into this field:

  https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword

  If you would rather just stick with your current email address on planetearthnewsletter, I definitely understand that as well!
