E-mail associated with account has been deleted

Hello, I have deleted the e-mail previously associated with this account, (email visible only to moderators and staff). I am trying to update my e-mail to (email visible only to moderators and staff). However, when I try to do so under my account settings, it states an e-mail has been sent to the deleted account. Can you help me?

Change the email address on your accounts page first.
Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner. It is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and a single associated email address, and who is the original Admin of the blogs registered under that username account. You can create one gravatar for every username account that applies to all blogs registered under the same username account and email address.
